Nouhaila Hamari
Nouhaila Hamari is a PhD candidate at the Department of Human Biology. Nouhaila obtained her BSc (graduated in 2020) and her MSc in Biomedical Sciences from Maastricht University in 2023, with a specialisation in Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Metabolism.
Nouhaila’s PhD project will focus on the long-term impact of a novel butryate-containing triglyceride oil on insulin sensitivity and other metabolic health markers in humans with overweight/obesity and an increased risk to develop type 2 diabetes. Her research project is mostly conducted in a clinical setting using state-of-the-art measurement techniques to assess and understand intervention-related alterations in energy and substrate metabolism in the individuals.
